Today we're going to have a look at the CoolerMaster CK720. It's a wired 65% keyboard that comes with Kailh BOX V2 switches in Brown, Red or White. We bought the silver version but it also comes in space grey and chameleon, which looks very pretty in the pictures but I can't tell if it's the same in person. The CK720 has a knob that's very heavily advertised, described, and centered in all the descriptions. It's a good knob and we like knobs.
Out of the box the CoolerMaster keyboard sounds decent, has beautiful lubed stabilizers and comes with an aluminum top plate that can be taken off without any tools. I have yet to figure out the reason for that, though.
It comes with a 5-pin hot-swap PCB or wireless and Bluetooth, unfortunately not both. If you don't think you'll ever replace the switches with something better you should probably go with the Red switches and wireless version, which seems like a very good deal for the price. The keyboard has north-facing LEDs and many options for lighting effects, including being able to determine the color for the effect you want. Having purple lighting effects is really nice.
The CK720 comes with a white USB-A to USB-C cable with a purple USB-A connector, it's very nice. Also you get a switch and keycap puller combination tool which is decent. The bonus obviously is the 8 Cherry MX green switches you get with the hotswap versions. If you ever wondered what 80 gram clicky switches feel and sound like, this is your chance !
